The Bord Bia Export Performance and Prospects 2022 — 2023 report looks at all sectors of the Irish food export market. It predicts that it is expected that Irish dairy supply in 2023 will be modestly ahead of 2022. This is a quick look at the dairy industry findings in that extensive report:
- For the dairy sector exports in 2022 were 47% higher than they were in 2018.
- “Irish dairy exports reached a record value of €6.8 billion in 2022 representing 33% growth versus 2021 with over 1.7 million tonnes of product shipped to over 130 markets worldwide.
- In 2022 compared to 2021 Butter prices were up 66%, SMP was up 46% and cheddar was up 33%
- “Cheese exports increased by an estimated €260 million in 2022 to a record value of approximately €1.3 billion, rising by 25% on 2021’s figures.”
- “The EU remains Irish dairy’s largest primary destination, accounting for 34% of all value exports in 2022, up from 31% in 2021. Exports to the region grew by 42% or €672 million to total an estimated €2.3 billion.”
- “Although Irish dairy exports to the UK grew by 39% in 2022, its share of dairy exports remained relatively static at 19%. Cheese and butter account for over 50% of exports.”

Ted is the Factory Manager, he is the man that keeps everything running smoothly, supporting production and technical operations. He ensures that all the machinery within the factory functions at maximum efficiency and is properly maintained.
Suma has worked for Ingredient Solutions for two years as Technical Manager – leading the technical team. Before working for Ingredient Solutions, Suma worked in Asia, the Middle East and Europe and has over twenty years experience in management and leadership in food and other industries.
Pina is our UK Sales Support Administrator and has worked for Ingredient Solutions since 2012. She works alongside Gary Davies and the sales team providing them with sales information and supporting the team especially when they are on the road. Pina works remotely for Ingredient Solutions from her base in Luton in the UK.
